Restless in Carolina by: Tamara Leigh
Meet Bridget Pickwick-Buchanan, an eco-friendly woman on a mission. She must come to terms with being a widow all while trying to find a buyer for her family’s estate. The catch is she wants a buyer who is eco-friendly as her and won’t turn it into a theme park. In comes green property developer J.C. Dirk, who doesn’t really show interest in the property, but rather Bridget has shown interest for him. While J.C. seems to be the hero for all Bridget’s problems, his secrets could mean the end of everything she has worked so hard to gain.
This was a great read. Leigh puts just the right amount of suspense with the mix on romance and discovery to make this a wonderful book. This book is the third in the Picwick series. I haven’t read the firs two, but this book stands along as well as goes with the series so if you pick this one up first like I did, don’t worry it still makes sense. I enjoyed reading about Bridget. I loved how grounded and real her character was. J.C. is portrayed as the entertaining and handsome character who you want Bridget to fall for, but there is concern over his secrets, and you find yourself not wanting Bridget to get too close and get hurt again. I thought the novel was humorous and full of southern charm and recommend this as a great read.
